Honor The Fallen

Honor The Fallen

“The willingness with which our young people are likely to serve in any war, no matter how justified, shall be directly proportional to how they perceive the Veterans of earlier wars were treated and appreciated by their nation.”

–George Washington

Those who have honorably served the United States of America should be treated with dignity and respect once they have fallen. The Patriotism Project would like to make sure that this is always the case, and bring attention and remediation to those where it is not.

As is the case with our National Anthem awareness projects, The Patriotism Project would like to educate our citizens on the proper respect for fallen veterans. We feel that most Americans understand the importance, as did our First President in the quote above, of honoring our veterans.

Too many Americans don’t know, for example, of the plight of the 96 Civil War veterans buried at Mount Moriah cemetery in Philadelphia. The overgrown plot has been vandalized and would be all but forgotten if not for the activism of a few patriots.

We also have a number of National Cemeteries which are treasure troves of history, and The Patriotism Project would like to raise awareness about those who are buried there and what they fought for. We will be developing educational resources which hopefully can be used to promote hands-on history lessons across our country.
